How do predators choose a victim?

A lion doesn’t select the strongest gazelle on a hunt. It selects the young, old, weak, injured or ill one, or the one not paying attention, or the unfortunate one who is separated from the herd.

Criminals are the same.

How you look, what you wear, how you walk, if you are passive or assertive, your surroundings and whether or not you are paying attention – it all MATTERS.

Don’t look or behave like a victim and you are far less likely to BE a victim. This is just as important for adults as it is for children; teach your children to be aware of their surroundings at all times. Set an example with your own purposeful confidence in situations. Always avoid sketchy locations and situations, seek strength in numbers, and attempt to avoid dangerous situations as the first and most important line of self defense.

Because as much as we hate to admit it, the criminals are out there and they are waiting for their next victim. Don’t let them think that could be you or someone you love.
